Otometrics boosts local presence in Russia

Distributor Sales welcomes Artem Atabekyan as new National Sales Manager in Russia

When it comes to the Russian market, being a global company is good, but having a local presence is even better. Russia is big and the market diverse. Personal relationships play an important role in Russian business, and having someone there – who not only knows the market, but understands how things work – can make a huge difference. That's why Otometrics – and the employees in Distributor Sales – are especially pleased to welcome their new colleague, Artem Atabekyan, as the new national sales manager for Otometrics in Russia.

Strong relationships grow the business

"Our strategy is to get closer to our distributors in key markets, and Russia represents a tremendous sales opportunity for us," says Anders Bjerg, International Sales Director. "We know from experience that supporting and motivating our distributors in person – with equipment, training, workshops and face-to-face meetings – not only means more sales, it means greater commitment to our company and products. With his extensive channel management experience, Artem can keep Otometrics top of mind among distributors – before, during and after the sale."

Based in Moscow, Artem Atabekyan will be responsible for strengthening relationships with existing distributors and building up a network of new distributors. Artem will also be assisting with product approvals, contacting key opinion leaders and attending local seminars and congresses.

The real work begins after the sale

According to Anders Bjerg, after-sales support is a key element of an Otometrics solution. Training, equipment calibration and on-going service are not only essential, but they also provide an opportunity to continue talking with customers and strengthen the relationship established during the sales process.

"An important part of my job will be building and maintaining relationships," says Artem Atabekyan. "There is a lot of work involved in establishing a relationship with a new distributor, but it takes even more effort to maintain the relationship after the sale. Training and after-sales support is so important. We want to show our distributors that we are here – when and where they need us – and that we are here for the long-term. I look forward to being a part of that process, too."
