Hearing care professionals from seven countries learn new techniques in vestibular testing
Hearing care professionals from seven countries gathered in Singapore in June to learn more about vestibular disorders and the latest advancements within vestibular assessment. The Balance Course – sponsored by Otometrics and SurgiPro Pte Ltd and facilitated by balance expert Kamran Barin, Ph.D. – attracted 50 participants, including ENT surgeons, neurosurgeons, audiologists, physiotherapists and distributors from Malaysia, Phillippines, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore. Participants received training in the latest developments within head impulse and oVEMP and cVEMP testing.
"This was an important symposium for us as it provided information about vestibular testing, which is an area of increasing interest," says Thomas Tang, Sales and Marketing Director at SurgiPro. "The training provided detailed, practical information. Best of all, many of the participants told me that they learned new techniques for performing the tests, as well as analyzing and interpreting the results."
