Course Summary
This is a one-day course is designed for advanced audiologist looking to add and expand their knowledge in objective Audiological assessments. This course is designed for those doing adult complex needs clinics, medico legal Audiology or for those who would like to expand the traditional test battery to include more objective measures for streamlined efficiency and accuracy. The course will provide an overview on objective assessment of Audiological function, including but not limited to: Anatomy and Physiology of the Auditory system, Otoacoustic Emissions- DPOAE VS TEOAE; Advanced immitance-reflex pattern recognition, Eustation tube dysfunction testing, and reflex decay; ABR- Audiological and Neurologic- overview of the NEUROSOFT System, parameters and patient set up; ASSR- updates and overview and Cortical evoked potentials.
Learner outcomes
- Describe advantages of objective measures in differential diagnosis
- Perform OAE- parameters and uses of different types
- Classification of tympanometry
- Reflex pattern recognition and interpretation of reflex decay
- ETD- uses and performing pressurised ETD-P
- Describe the latest BSA recommended guidance on ABR
- Neurologic ABR and threshold ABR parameters and uses
- ASSR- percentage probability and its uses in cross check
- Corticals- performing corticals and interpretation of results
